Privacy Policy

This policy explains what information LocalDelMar handles when you use this site, and how you can exercise your privacy rights. We keep data collection to a minimum and we do not sell personal information.
Information we handle
- Contact form. The name, email address and message you choose to submit, used only to review and respond to your request.
- Della AI chat. The messages you type are sent to our AI provider to generate a reply. Please do not include personal, sensitive, financial or health information in the chat.
- Technical data. Standard server and hosting logs (such as IP address, browser type, pages requested and timestamps) used for security, abuse prevention, and to keep the site running.
- Location. Weather and surf conditions are shown for Del Mar (ZIP 92014) by default. We do not request or store your device's precise location.
Service providers
We rely on third parties to operate the site, including our hosting platform, our AI model provider (for chat responses), and public weather, surf and air-quality data APIs. They process data only as needed to provide their service and under their own privacy terms. We do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.
Cookies and tracking
We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies. Our host may set strictly necessary cookies or use local browser storage to deliver and secure the site. You can block or clear these in your browser settings; some features may then stop working.
Retention and security
We keep submissions and logs only as long as needed for the purposes above or as required by law, then delete or de-identify them. We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards, but no method of transmission or storage is completely secure.
Children
The site is not directed to children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. If you believe a child has submitted information, contact us through our form and we will delete it.
Your rights
Depending on where you live — including under the California Consumer Privacy Act as amended (CCPA/CPRA) and the GDPR — you may have the right to know what personal information we hold, to request access, correction or deletion, to opt out of sale or sharing (we do neither), and not to be discriminated against for exercising these rights. Submit a request through our contact form and we will verify and respond as required by law.
Changes
We may update this policy; the "last updated" date above will change and continued use of the site means you accept the revised policy.
